Rumor: StarCraft: Ghost; Diablo 3 alive?
Diablo3.com, a site dedicated to the pursuit of another Diablo game out of Blizzard, have posted an interesting news update on their main page focused around Blizzards list of cancelled games over the last two decades.
Blizzard suits Rob Pardo and Mike Morhaine took to the stage at GDC this year to tell everyone what they think is responcible for Blizzard Entertainments massive success in the gaming industry and also to talk a little about those titles we just didn't get to see.
Among the titles listed were the well known Warcraft Adventures and Pax Imperia but Diablo3.com didn't care about those titles. What they noted was that there was no mention of StarCraft: Ghost, a game that was supposedly shelved many years ago. More recently, execs at Blizzard have been throwing StarCraft: Ghost out as a title they'd like to re-explore at some point in the future and with people hoping for not one but two titles being announced this year, could this be the start of yet more hype surrounding the infamous development studio?

Crixa
Shattered Nations
Pax Imperia
Denizen
Warcraft Adventures
Nomad
Raiko
We knew about Pax Imperia and Warcraft Adventures, but that's all. Note the absence of StarCraft: Ghost on the list.
Also, no Diablo III here
As well as this possible hint at StarCraft: Ghost getting a second sitting, some other rumors have been flying around IRC channels and chat rooms regarding the long awaited, highly anticipated third sitting for the Diablo franchise.
For those of you who don't remember, StarCraft 2 was officially confirmed at last years World Wide Invitiational in Korea, a country famous for it's e-sport seen, especially with StarCraft. It's not surprising that they would chose a country where StarCraft matches are televised and StarCraft players are celebrities as the location for the announcement. Roll on one year and the location for the Blizzard World Wide Invitationals 2008 has been announced as Paris, Europe.
Some forums have begun juggling the possibility of the next installment of the Diablo franchise being announced with many hedging their bets on a Diablo MMO. If the persistent speculation of a Diablo MMO are true, I don't see it being announced at the Invitationals due to Blizzard wanting the MMO focus on World of Warcraft and its latest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. If the speculation is false and the game is just a standard RPG with multiplayer through Battle.net then it is possible. Perhaps we will see blizzards first FPS, StarCraft: Ghost, removed from the shelf?
Everyone shall be waiting with baited breathe for the World Wide Invitationals in June not only for the showcase that it promises to be but also for the chance of a new game being announced. I personally am waiting to see if we will get another BlizzCon this year. I sincerely hope so...

Gnug315Blizzard are currently working on the following four games, in order of release date:
WoW: Wrath of the Lich King
StarCraft II
Diablo 3
A new MMO - new IP
I'm guessing they might add a release a smaller title or two before they release their next MMO, as it could literally be uptowards a decade of - more WoW expansions, most likely. It'd make no sense to rush their next MMO while WoW is still growing as it is. Better to wait when most ppl are finally tired of it.
