Starcraft II out in December?

News | June 24, 2008 (2 months, 2 weeks ago) | by Zyuu | Filed in Starcraft II

Now don't think too much of this, but there's a lot of rumors and talk about a release date for the much anticipated RTS StarCraft II. Like many times before, it's the American retailers that have begun to speculate. What's caused a reaction is that many larger sites such as Best Buy, Circuit City and GameStop have the same date - 3rd December.

StarCraft II - closer than we've thought?

As expected, Blizzard are very quiet about this whole deal, but since "Blizzard's World Wide Invitational 2008" will take off on Saturday, we probably don't have to wait too long for an official release date.

Blizzard only has the freedom to release games whenever they feel for one reason. *Cough* 1.8 Billon Dollars a year from WoW subscriptions *Cough* If this were any other company they would be pressed by fans and stock holders to speed it up and get the games out. It's not like blizzard games are really that much better. I'll play a Madden over starcraft any day. Oh and guess what, Madden comes out better than ever, every single year at the same time. I think Blizzard needs to get off their high horse, set a release goal and do it. This whenever it's done motto they got over there is really just a market ploy to make people feel some epic product is about to come out. Well I'm not buying and until you people do the same, Blizzard is just gonna keep having their superiority complex continue to grow.

Never, ever put any stock in a release date from retailers. They have no inside information. It's wishful thinking on their part to get people to pre-order.

Until there's a press release from Blizzard stating a set-in-stone date, the release date is, "When It's Done."
